Good old Monty!
«

Did anyone else happen to catch Monty Don Thurs. night on tv--Question Time? He looked a little gaunt, of course, after his stroke---but still with it and engaged in the discussion. I miss him on Gardeners World. Wonder how he spends his time now, hopefully on his own garden and life and family. I know when Gardeners World returns (I think next month) again, spring will be near. Here's hoping and waiting.

Lives in Cheshire. Light sandy soil. Loves no dig.

Hi
I really like Monty and miss him too. I feel like whatever he talks about I can so relate to and he is so honest in what he says.
Even when he gets things wrong. Not something all gardeners admit to doing ;D

Gardener's World...Back on air
The series returns on Friday 13 March, when Carol Klein meets a selection of plantholics in the first of three 60-minute specials. On 20 March, Joe Swift explores gardening in small spaces; and on 27 March, Toby Buckland investigates the peat debate.

His speech at the soil association annual 'do' was a good one!
The Lady Eve Balfour Memorial Lecture, 02 October 2008
Monty Don, our new president, explains how 'growing our own' can help rebuild our food culture.

Caroline--Have you read one of his first (I think) The Jewelled Garden? Very good insight into his beginnings.

Lauren--yeah I thought GW was due back in March--hurrah!!! And I'm going to look for Monty's book Fork to Fork that was just mentioned. Next best thing to gardening is reading about it. We should start a gardening book , club link on A4A, don't you think?

If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

The tomato chutney recipe is good too. Made 3 jars this year and will be doing more next year I think!
