Digi Project underway
« on: January 11, 2009, 16:12:57 »
A friend visiting from Cuba has asked if I can do 'a bit of something with her siblings.' All are now dead and the pic's I have are photo's of photo's.
My efforts today below. First pic is original. Second is my efforts today.
If anyone wants to have a go from the originals, feel free.

I know how they feel as I have a comparable photo of my great-grandfather's family, taken in 1912, which I've never managed to improve. I wish my skills were up to it!

Wish I could have had a bit more time on this one. Lots more I could have done. However, the people were happy. I put them all on CD to show to their family in Cuba.

No Ken, looking at a suggestion from moonbeam for a free site 'Picasa'. This seems to cover all sorts.

Picasa is a good one for quite a lot of what you probably want. Give it a go.....
...in anticipation  :D Ken.

This may not make sense .
is it possible to high light the right side of the pic that`s ok. And copy it then flip it over like a mirror image
Then paste it over the left side damage part of the picture.
or am talking alot of nonsense

Yes, that's possible with the right programme. Snag is, you'll end up with a picture that's actually made up of two identical components but one side reversed.
If you're talking about a persons face, it wouldn't work. Faces are not symmetrical.

Can't really think of a subject that would lend itself to such an action. Is it impossible to repair the picture?

How about posting the pic in question?

Thanks for that Ken, all downloaded and sorting albums now. Never been so organised. ;D Hope the red eye function is as good as they say, seems to be a prob on my camera although I have a setting to eliminate it. Once I'm all in order I'll have a play. ;D

If it's dark enough to need a flash, ask your subject to look into a candle or other light source before you take the pic. That will prevent red eye... ;)
