Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE. This takes you to Task Manager. Highlight each application which is running and Click on End Task. That will close the application which is currently working. (or not working as in crashed)

Thanks Palustris...I do know that one, but about 12 mnths ago I found a single click version but I have changed my comp since then and forgot wher I found it ::)......Alan

Hi AlanG - I know of ALT-F4 (to close a programme), and CTRL-F4 (to close a window inside a running programme), but nothing to close ALL windows.
