Havoc everywhere. Daughter, consultant in a Woolwich hospital, just phoned to say sudden blizzard with thunder and lightening had brought traffic to instant and prolongued halt, no buses, so she is faced with stamping through South London in the snow for an hour or more to collect children from nursery. She sometimes envies patients, tucked up warmly in their beds.

Here in East Sussex rains have ground to a halt indefinitely. Yet it is not that cold! Another daughter in Germany reports temperatures of minus 20 C. And don't mention the Channel Tunnel.

Yep - bit of chaos in SE London.  It rained abit - then it froze and then an inch or two of snow on top.
Went to the offy for some wine and it was an ice rink - roads that were fine this morning are a nightmare now.  I went for a cycle this morning - dont think I would do so now..
Moved to Portugal - ain't going back!

Only rain today but now it's freezing and the road outside is a skating rink again.

I'm sure I can remember them gritting the footpaths as well as the roads when I was a child. They didn't even grit the road here even though it's a bus route, just diverted the buses back to the main road!

Ninny (who nearly became a cropper today!)
