Lovely blue sky here no sign of snow (sigh of relief) Dog off to kennels tomorrow weather permitting so that I can remove 4 panels of fencing which I am intending to cut down from 5ft to 3 ft. Hope that will help to reduce any future wind damage. Good that I get on well with neighbours (daughter :)).

Well our snow had melted by mid-afternoon so I went to the lottie to discover that some brightspark has driven into the gate, distorted the bolt and now the gates are only held by the padlock and chain. So anyone with wirecutters can have a ball. Spent half an hour in the local police station on the way home reporting it.

today here in Nantes, France, about 7 degrees celsius and overcast, very chilly for April. And looks like drizzle predicted for the weekend too :( dunno when I will get the last spuds in... I guess they can wait another week but the chits are getting a bit too big.

Do you know the Barbara song: "Il pleut sur Nantes....."?

about the death of her Dad. Cheerful stuff, but I like the song and Nantes!

Spoil sport, maybe but, Ken, does this really get us anywhere??

I know what I have here, & I check Metcheck & Accuweather for what I might get.

I see no gain.

:-\ Hubby and I (hubby on fortnights holiday) worked in garden today and lovely and sunny until about 3pm (ish) then all of a sudden it began to get cloudy and suddenly a really cold gust of wind got up and remained and we both became really cold so called it a day..... and then at about 4pm it started to rain and has continued to do so on and off eversince!!  Roll on some decent sunny weather.... fed up of all this cold and rain... sunshine in between so short lived!!
Hubby finally installed my automatic vent opener in greenhouse and it works!!! opened in sunshine this morning and closed on cue when it turned colder this afternoon... its magic!!! (you know what they say about little things please little minds.. but its made my day!!) ;D ;D ;D ;D

It's typical of what you get with a northwest wind. The air is cold and, having come over the Atlantic, full of moisture. During the day, the land warms up, and heats the air in contact with it. This starts to rise, and as it does so, it cools. Since it starts off warmer than the surrounding air, it always remains a little warmer than the air it's rising though, so it goes on rising. As it cools, it becomes less able to hold water vapour, so it forms clouds, which build up and start dropping rain. The warmer the ground gets, the stronger the heating effect, and the heavier the showers. Then they die out as everything cools off in the evening.
