I planted some canes (brought from Woolies) last year and we had our 1st fruit this year. This seasons growth is now at least 7ft. Do I just tie them to the wires and leave them or should I reduce their height? They are summer fruiting.

My idea was to build Liverpool into a bastion of invincibility. Napoleon had that idea. He wanted to conquer the bloody world. I wanted Liverpool to be untouchable. My idea was to build Liverpool up and up until eventually everyone would have to submit and give in. Bill Shankly.

The Leo on the fruit farm where I used to work did this - absolute monsters. And spiny buggers too. We would gently bend the tops over to make a hoop, so tied in 2 places at the top.
