Allotment rules and regulations on Scotland

I heard that the protection of allotments from development in Scotland isn't nearly as secure as in England.
Can anyone give me more information on this?

don't know if there is anything on this site, www.sags.org.uk, it's the Scottish Allotments and Gardens Society web site  :)
