Armchair Allotmenteering
« on: September 22, 2017, 19:15:21 »
Recently, I have been reading a book called "Plot 34" by Mark Keenan.

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/8665674-plot-34

It's an amusing account of ups and downs of a first plot with some side stories/factoids thrown in for good measure.  What other allotment related books/films/TV series have you enjoyed?

My life on a hillside allotment by Terry Walton, is well worth a read.
He runs the Radio 2 allotment and can be heard on The Jeremy Vine Show reporting in once a week.
The book is entertaining, not intended as an instruction manual.

I love that film Duke.
It makes me laugh and cry and is about so much more than Allotments.
Can't recommend it enough.

I have the DVD... worth a re-watch every now and then... especially as the committee implodes yet again!
