Topic: Nasturtiums

I have some Nasturtiums seedlings in seed trays, together with loads of veg seedlings.  They are all hardened off and are sitting on my patio table.  I looked up the BBC weather yesterday in my area and it just said light rain and '0' degrees by the end of the night.....unfortunately i woke up to find an inch and a half of snow covering my seedlings!


The snow has all gone now and all the seedling look ok except the Nasturtiums which have drooped and some of the leaves look like lettuce leaves when they have been frozen and then defrosted....do you think they will pick up or should i start again?

Thought you would say that...never mind, i do have another seed packet knocking around...i thought they were supposed to be hardy annuals though?

start again. They're the first thing to go when we have our first winter frost

Yes they are edible and i forgot how nice they are in salad.

Yes they are..but they have to be hardened out first...try to chuck baby outside...how long it will last?
Where as you are already hardened more mature individual...you can take a bit of frosty treatment... ;)
