paraffin heaters
« on: October 27, 2005, 09:43:31 »
Hi All
As my garden is quite small, I only have one of those plastic cosy houses from focus. Last winter I used the paraffin heater which was great for starting my seedlings off, the only prob is sometimes the bloody wick kept blowing out. Does anyone have any ideas what I can use apart form paraffin, anything with a cable on is out the question as can't run electric from the house to back of the garden  :)

There are gas heaters but they are big and expensive :( how about putting the heater on a small platform so it is just out of the draught and blocking the bottom few inches with some plywood or a few bricks ??

Just a thought, if it's small & well sealed it might be burning all the air and then going out, not blowing out. It will need ventilation.
