raspberries and garlic?

Would it work if I underplanted my raspberry canes with garlic?

I've only got a small garden, so desparate for room!
gone to pot :D

One can only try....if you are going to..make sure your garlic is planted on sunny side of the row as they will need plenty of sun. And you will need to apply some fertilizer in early spring onwards ..because of the competition..and water..
But otherwise I cannot see why you should not get perfectly acceptable crop ;) ;D..it might involve little extra work..but worth it..

Another approach which is low-work, is autumn cropping raspberries with ramsons (wild garlic). Ramsons naturally die back in early summer, but make full use of the available light in late winter and spring before the rasps come up. It doesn't really work very well with summer fruiting rasps tho'.
