Meet Jessica
« on: December 19, 2008, 22:50:31 »
Jessica was born at 1.05 a.m. today to our Niece.  She is 5 weeks premature but was 5lb11 oz so not a bad weight.  We haven't had a baby in the family for 25 years  so she is precious....  I am pleased with the name because my first name is Jessie, but don't think she was named after me, the parents just sliked it.  A special gift at the end of a dreadful year.

No better sight than a new babby in home knitted clothes. Lovely
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

Thanks for all your kind comments.

Jessica isn't feeding herself because she is so young I think.  She is now in the Special Baby Unit with a tube up her nose.  I am sure everything will be OK eventually.  She is brought back to our Neice between feeds though.  We are all a bit anxious but am sure she will start feeding soon.  Bless her.

Cara (my grand daughter was born 5 weeks early and we had the same.  Fed with a tube as she wouldn't suck. She is now 11 years old, still a bit of a fussy eater but full of energy and waiting for her Xmas presents.  Jessica is a good weight for an early baby and she will soon be feeding well.  Looks a lovely baby and good wishes and I know one does worry but she will be fine.  Lots of love and best wishes.

She is still in SCBU but Niece is home.  She is now taking her feeds but is still very sleepy and has to be woken up for her feeds.  She will come on in her own time I am sure.
