Spent Tuesday on a great railway journey from Pwllheli to Aberystwyth. The railway runs right along the cambrian coast. It was sooooo weird sitting on the train and watching the waves roll in as we tootled along.
Will post a few more piccys later. ;)

Ooh, thanks Mimi. :) What a fantastic train journey to take. We'll be up staying in Dolgellau for a week at the end of August and you've reminded me of just why we're going there. The Mawddach estuary is beautiful - we spent our honeymoon at the George III, Penmaenpool, quite a few years ago and have a special attachment to that part of the world.

It certainly does look beautiful, Mimi.
We've visited some beautiful places in Wales but the weather has always been dreadful and we've never really been able to make the most of them.

I haven't been to that part of Wales for about 10 years - you have bought back some happy memories, thanks.

Hey Mimi, is that where the train bridge goes over the Mawddach at Barmouth? I spent hours as a kid with my brother playing in the rock pools at the edge of that river below the bridge!!
What memories...thank you!

I once sat on a train in the staion by the Mawddach there, and watched a sheep give birth to a lamb.
Fond memories of that bridge too, carrying a girl friend across as she had hurt her ankle. As a result we missed the boat we were going in up the river. The boat sank and a lot of people sadly perished.
Now I feel old, well over 40 years ago that!

I've never been to Wales either, or Ireland for that matter.
Heldi, it's my ambition to travel round Britain too. One day, sigh.
Bet you're glad you missed that boat Palustris!

Mothy It sure is... and just for you here is a rather awful photo of some kids doing just the same thing...... remember we were whizzing by and trying to wave to them at the same time as taking this photo. ;)
Eric I am so glad that you missed that boat too. :D
