Title: Update on my experiment
Post by: Aidy on May 19, 2005, 13:35:17
Way back March I started an experiment using weed guard fabric, well here is the update on how it is going, I so far have planted Garlick, Onion, Cabbage (summer), Sutton broad beans, peas and Climbing beans. Everything is thriving appart from the garlick which seems to  be dying a slow death, no signs of white rot so was wondering if it is a little to damp under the fabric so have now tranplanted them into an open bed, the main result is I seem to have time now to do the other jobs and spend hours hoeing to keep the weeds at bay, I will give you an update in a couple of months time.
Regards

Ta for your research on our behalf.  I'm all for not weeding, or digging  :)

Our garlic are doing the same. Got yellow tips on the top. They where grown in individual pots. No root desturbance. So I am a little perplexed on why they should be looking a little sick. Must be the odd weather conditions.

Mine too has yellowing, seems to happen every year about this time without any adverse results!
