Title: We are going to be sooooooo busy!
Post by: Mrs Ava on February 16, 2004, 00:29:51
What a splendiferous weekend we had!  And to top it all, I had a little chat with our lottie site secretary, and have acquired another half a plot.  Only a half for now, next door but one to our big plot, as the chap that has it is elderly and rather ill.  He has raspberry canes and fruit bushes down the far end, and he is hoping that he will be well enough to tend them this year, but he can no longer cope with the whole plot, so we are having the other half.  It is pretty rough at the moment, lots of grass  :o which is going to mean some major digging, but how great is that!  Needed it really - we have such a good selection of squashes we want to grow, that  we needed more space.  I am sooooooo excited!   ;D

Cor - you are going to be busy! It's amazing how quickly what space you have seems to run out. I was measuring the garden yesterday - it's a lot smaller than I thought and it always feels smaller when I'm in there - I hope my design'll work. But I'm already feeling a need to buy a new house (with bigger garden!)

Congrats on your new lottie EJ, I am sure you will have it whipped into shape in no time at all.  All that extra space will be great.  It is amazing how your allotment seems to shrink after a while isn't it?  Hope you have got lots of freezer space.  :)  busy_lizzie

Go for it Oz - report back on progress as soon as you can!

EJ - makes me fingers itch just thinking about more space!  I'm going to give watermelon a go on my new plot - I'm not expecting much in the way of watermelon, you understand.....but am hoping for major weed suppression and mega quantities of biomass for the compost bins!
