Hello, now i'm getting addicted to this gardening malarkey thought i'd treat myself to a magazine. Anyone recomend one.
-
Grow your own
get it from WHSmith,s it is well good and you get free stuff
which is good
owt for nowt give it to me,
hope that helps ;D
-
Depends what you want it for - GYO has a lot of photos in as well as more recipes than the other gardening ones, Kitchen Garden goes into a bit more depth, and for an organic slant - Organic Gardening Mag.
-
Forgot to add that there are a few threads on the GYO magazine:

Havent seen, GYO yet will order it from work, but I have a subscription to Kitchen Garden and I think its great, especially the bit about the hens, as I am going to get hens on my Lottie,The girl 3 plots down has hens and a cockeral, Its something I have wanted for years.I had hens several years ago, and once you`ve had them, you will always want them again. :)

hi there
what a weekend for the lottie
i get the kitchen gardener when i can
lots of goiod stuff
-
Did not get much done this weekend - earthed up some potatoes and a bit of digging. Had too many family things (barbie today). Did meet Kitty at an allotment sale though. :)
I do not subscribe to anything - I bought two books - Dr Hassayon's Vegetable Expert and, because he said throw chemicals at everything, Geof Hamilton's Organic Gardener. I then just used the inernet - http://www.gardenaction.co.uk/ and http://www.keirg.freeserve.co.uk/diary/default.html were both very useful. Others specific to you are picked up along the way. Its a steep learning curve but enthusiasm helps.

Vogue. ;D
Ahhh, if only....I would go for kitchen garden - does the trick for me everytime. ;D

You've got a thingyeral? lol. GYO has a bit more on smallholding stuff than Kitchen Garden mag.
I prefer Cosmo- EJ!
redclanger - I had Sindy.
-
Never try to type and hold a conversation with a moping teenager, she has`nt got a thingyeral, but she does have a cockeral.
-
cockeral
-
Every time I type in the name for a male chicken, the word cockeral comes up, so i will call it a rooster.
-
Yes there is some sort of filter that prevents you from posting the word thingy. ;D begins with c and ends with a k
-
Have you lot been eating Mushrooms?
-
I bought a Grow Your Own Magazine on Thursday, sowed the Butternut Swash seeds that day and the first shoots came through yesterday (Sunday) I am most impressed!
-
To post the word 'cockerel', highlight part of the word between the initial C and the K, and press the red A to the right of the row of BBC tags above the space where you type. Ignore what comes up and post it.
-
cockeral Mm! that's clever, where did you learn that ??? 8)
-
I help to moderate an ancient coin board which uses the same software, so I've had time to pick a few things up.
-
Aw, Robert - don't spoil the fun! I enjoy trying to decipher the dog's dinner :) ;) :)
All best - Gavin
