Speedy - how on earth did you find them? The internet is a weird + wonderful place, but sometimes a little scary :-\

That artists family must be sick of bl**dy wtermelons- watermelons for breakfast, lunch and tea...
roast watermelon, watermelon dessert, watermelons au gratin, creme watermelons, watermelon soup, watermelon ice cream (that one might actually be nice), watermelons on toast....
I could go on all day, anything ive missed? ;D ;D ;D

Well, having too much time on my hands myself (!) at lunchtime I was surfing about and found the link on another website.

They are amazing, and must take ages to carve. How does the artists stop them going off before he/she is finished?

I've seen Thai ladies carving soap into rose shapes - so delicate + vey like some of the watermelons. They're very quick at it.

Jane you have been misled..I cut mine in slices and eat as if I have a harmonica to my mouth ,  ;Dthe fact that I live on my own helps, juice running down my arms etc. I think they are fantastic. Lorna.
