Title: Asparagus bed....Im confused by how sunny is sunny?

We can pontially put in a 13foot by 13foot  Asparagus bed in a part of harden that would be South facing but is bedind our house......it get full sun from 11am.

Is this sunny enough?

I think that would be plenty, mine is south facing but the huge fairly distant but shady willows mean it only gets full sun at high summer from about 10. It's been there nearly 30 years and I've already had 4 huge pickings this year... go for it!

Thank you so much both! You have made my day. I love Asparagus. I have covered this area for a year to bump off weeds ... so can go for it now.

How many would you plant....for the variety I like they say 4 per meter......Others say 6 per meter...Id rather they had room. How many would you plant.
Im thinking Stewart Purple but wondering if better to have two varieties....but that ones my favourite as its nice raw...sweet.

Our bed is behind the allotment site toilet block, and gets sun for about 2/3rds of the daylight hours and hasn't suffered...
