Title: Is there anything...
Post by: Debs on March 28, 2005, 20:19:53
...that you have never tasted??

I say this because I recently bought a celeriac and have just

polished off a plateful which were DELISH!!! :P :P

I cut them into wedges and tossed them in a mixture of garlic

flavoured olive oil( home-made of course 8)), chilli flakes,

salt & pepper, then roasted them in a hot oven for 15 mins.

Verdict = SCRUMMY

I am a celeriac convert and shall be buying some seed to grow!!

I grew alabaster last year and they have been excellent.  Fleshy and tender, not fibrious and none were hollow in the centre.  Have a tray already on the go in the greenhouse.

Veggie I have never tried........................chinese artichokes and some of the oriental greens, but planning to put that right this year as I have 5 different asian greens to grow!  ;D

Things one has not tasted?- a cigar rolled on the thigh of a duskey maiden?.

For me it has to be capers,it`s not that I like them that much-I just hate being beaten,

Thinking of cigars Stephan, that is another thing that was mentioned in the book - liquid gold. Beware of cigars from Cuba!!!
