Title: slow ripening tomatoes
Post by: ACE on August 12, 2015, 21:43:23
They did seem very slow, just a couple each week, but instead of chucking some over ripe bananas on the compost heap I put them in the greenhouse. Loads of colour showing now. Might be coincidence but the old banana trick used to work when we wanted plants in bloom at the gardening shows, never failed.

Certainly works once they are of the plant... in a drawer for example , so no reason why it shouldn't...

I have got banana skins hanging on each tomato plant and some on the compost I have tried this in the past it did seem to help and as the toms seem to be taking a while to ripen thought I would try again so time will tell
