I'm very impressed... I'll be adding that variety to my shopping list. We use Bella  and it's doing very well here, just across the road!

Crikey, there's an awful lot of indigestion there, well done! I'm looking for a new variety to try, anything special you did for that result?

Did nothing special, just plenty of feed and water. They are right at the front of the greenhouse, so got pollinated better. I always have good results with Telepathy though. The Marketmore are just coming on.

I too picked my first cucumber this weekend! So thrilled, they are doing marvellously well this year, I have several fruit on 3 vines. I think that they are variety "Bedfordshire Prize" http://www.blackmoor.co.uk/products/16378#.U8zacrEbDuo (http://www.blackmoor.co.uk/products/16378#.U8zacrEbDuo)

I bought a cucumber plant from  Wyevale store. It had a £4 reduced label but I got it for £1. It had 5 cucumbers on it so my thought was if nothing else develops 20p per cuc isn't bad anyway. I tasted one yesterday & it's quite lemony, not a crystal apple/lemon though. It's a fat little cuc. Any ideas please folks?

I must share this. I have two cucumber plants. Don't know the varieties as I got them from a car boot sale. So far I have harvested about half a dozen decent sized fruits. My lottie neighbour said that I had a huge marrow in the greenhouse, she could see it from her plot. I said I hadn't got any courgettes in there, only cucumbers. I went to take a look. It was a cucumber the size of a marrow. It was growing between  the bench and the window and I had not seen it. One slice will fill a sandwich.
