Title: Marshall's Leek Delivery
Post by: rokerman1973 on May 12, 2014, 16:19:49
Had an e-mail sent last Thursday morning letting me know that my Leeks had been despatched. They have not yet arrived. Should I be concerned?

If you don't get them in the next post or two get in touch with Marshall's, sounds like they sent them via slow pigeon. Hopefully they will arrive tomorrow and look fine if not contact them and ask for a replacement. Let us know how you get on.

They have arrived bone dry and many of them are just like long yellow grass blades. Five days in transit. I had e-mailed Marshalls yesterday and they sent an automatic reply stating they were very busy with queries. Of to ail them again and ask for replacements.

What a shame, after a long wait it is really disappointing when they are not fit for purpose when they arrive. I've ordered plants (not leeks) from them in the past and they have been good on arrival. Hope they sort it out for you quickly

We order from Marshall's quite often and delivery is usually excellent. 9 times out of 10 the goods arrive the day after the email. I would say you do need to get them replaced.

I have ordered a lot in the past and they have usually been very good with as you say delivery a day or two after the e-mail. They certainly have let me down this time. Maybe the Post Office have their part to play. Think and as I've said in my e-mail to Marshalls I'll be going to a local garden centre and viewing before I buy. The cosy is also comparable so a lesson learnt. Just a little concerned that I don't get the replacements soon or they have run out and can't get them from my local garden centre as they may also have sold out. Pity as I have been well ahead with my leek bed - been prepared for a while now ready for planting. Thanks for all you replies folks. Have a good rest of the day.

Just an update guys. Marshalls have come good, must have ran out of leeks but are sending me grafted tomatoes x 3 and the same for cucumbers. A substantial financial replacement although no leeks. Well done Marshalls for a good response to my concerns.  :hello2:
