Title: Piglets been born.
Post by: Alipip on April 20, 2014, 18:35:07
Thursday night / friday morning our sow had 10 piglets, 2 didn't make it, but the other 8 are doing fine. There is one that is so tiny, it is about 1/4 size of the others and it spends all its time snuggled up to it's mummy. She makes the others lay in the corner creche under the heat lamp, but lets that one snuggle up to her.

Brings back happy memories of when we kept pigs. A friend over the road would give the piglets their iron injection but when he had problem with his pigs he wouldn't come in to our farrowing building in case he brought the problem to our pigs. As my late husband had a phobia about needles it was left to me to do the injections. Husband bought me an 'automatic' injection thing, was so good that same friend would get me to inject his piglets!!
