Is this new, didn't the government drop this a couple of years back, I just googled and found no new news of a recent move by the government? There were mentions earlier on in the year in a few places http://www.allotments4all.co.uk/smf/index.php/topic,77270.0.html

I have just signed the petition, which must be fairly new as it will be submitted in June of this year.

There are only 883 signatures so far, so come on fellow members, add yours to it before it is too late.

I don't own an allotment but believe strongly that they play an important part in the lives of many.  Back in the 1980's I used to live near Totton in Hampshire and remember the Water Lane Allotments land being taken for house building.  Don't let it happen in your neck of the woods. Sign the petition now.

I don't know if it is new or not...somebody just posted the link for me asking if I  new about it..and I passed it on..
Even if its not...it still doesn't hurt to grumble against..even if it is for 'just in case'.. :glasses9:

Done as well.

Don't have an allotment now, but would hope to get a plot if/when we move next time, like I had at our previous addresses when we had tiny gardens.

This is important and there are not that many signatures yet.  Just like with the European Seed regulations, we do have to tell them what we want, or they think we don't want/need allotments.

But this is pretty much in response to an old article being re-run in the press. There is nothing I can find to indicate that this is happening. So no, I'm not signing. It's redundant.
