Title: Dahlias not flowering
Post by: caroline7758 on August 07, 2013, 20:53:31
I have quite a few dahlias, grown from seed this year, that have only grown about 9" tall and are showing no sign of flowering. I think they are "Bishop's children". Is it too late to hope for flowers now?

No its not too late...dahlias can keep flowering until frosts kill the tops.
As you have grown them from seed..they just have to grow big enough storage tubers under ground before they start to push flowers out. Just wait couple of more weeks and I'm sure you will start seeing first flower buds....give them doze of miracle grow or tomato feed to get them going.
You can over winter 'bishops children' crowns for earlier flowers next year :icon_thumleft:
