Title: Community event in Birmingham
Post by: Robert_Brenchley on March 10, 2012, 11:27:40
I had this email the other day:

Hello,

We hope you can let your allotment holder networks know about this relevant
event happening in Digbeth within easy access of New Street Station.

What?

BRAVEvent is a one-off all-day Free community event; an opportunity for
anyone to enjoy a day (or an hour!) learning whatever new and exciting
skills you want to from the diverse drop-in sessions we have planned - the
seed swap has just been confirmed with donations from Suttons Seeds, and
there will be workshops on making innovative tetrapak plant pots with
optional . There will also be local talent to sample. The whole event is
FREE and a tasty lunch and dinner will be provided by suggested donation.
The whole event is run not-for-profit.
~Be there, be green, be gardening~

Where?
Birmingham city. The venue for the event is called The Edge;
1) 15 minute walk (1 mile) from New Street Station/the Bull Ring or
2) Upto a 5 minute bus ride from the city centre (bus stop opposite Moor
Street station), The address is: 79-81 Cheapside, Digbeth, B12 0QH For
directions on the map: http://g.co/maps/e2php

When?
The event will be held on Saturday 31st March between 10am and 8:30pm, with
workshops starting at 11am and ending at 6:15pm with dinner! Some local
entertainment (comedy, music, performance poetry... and let's see what
else!) will be running alongside workshops from lunch, and into the evening.
More information about the event is available here:

Please do feedback if you are able to distribute this through your
green-fingered networks.

Anyone else feel like going? If so, maybe we could meet up at some point.

It sounds like it might be interesting Robert.  I'm rota'd to work so I don't think I can make it but I'd like to meet up so I'll think about taking the day off.
