Only 5?!...Uh..
Well..after giving it thorough thought..Roses, Lilac, Lavender, Lily-of-the-Valley, Snowdrops, Apple..I just had to add that last one..not only because the fruit..but the flowers, sooo beautiful, worth growing for the bloom only.  ;D

Roses for fragrance, for bouquets and tall arbor beauty

Coneflowers and zinnias for their medium height, drought and heat tolerance, long blooming period, for bouquets and they are attractive to butterfly, bee and birds

Sweet Alyssum for fragrance and mat-like habit

can't decide amongst all the spring bulbs and flowering shrubs that are beautiful in their season. Maybe our crab apple tree in bloom followed by apples for the deer?

If I could have hade more than 5 good old nelly would be on the list A really cheerful flower that I look forward to every spring, but frowned upon in modern gardens, (Shh I've got one)

Years ago I bought a half dead Nelly from the old Quick save.

Lived in a tiny one bed flat but had a patio door and a small  bit of ground.I put a trellis on the wall and with a bit of TLC away she went.By the time I left she was a wonder to behold in full bloom.Everybody going in and out the block stopped to admire her.A good memory. :)

My favourites:
Rose
Fuchsia
Daffodil
Hydrangea
Delphinium

........but they don't always behave and I could have dismissed them quite easily and put in others that never fail.

I don't have much room for flowers by always try to grow some.
I have a weakness for peonies but don't actually grow any!
Other than that, I love
Sweet peas for the perfume
Old roses too
wisteria (but would never have space for that)
honeysuckle

The only things I ever manage to grow in the allotment is pot marigolds, nasturtiums and tagetes! Although this year I had Cosmos which were really successful and the late blooms were covered in hungry insects.
