Title: Just look at it now!
Post by: GardnerJ on February 03, 2005, 09:52:31: Wow my friend and husband wirked on the plot yesterday and i am so proud! It looks better than i expected! What do you think?

Jemma - don't worry about the wood - obviously that would be nice, but so long as you keep your edges tidy and keep the soil away from the grass (like you have at the moment - a bit of a gulley round the edge) you shouldn't have too much problem. Every winter, you just have to tidy the edges up again...

the raspberries were there when i got it so it is a real bonus! i will just have to wait and see if i get anything from them this year!

We did a similar trench for our beans once - filled the bottom with really wet newspaper, topped it with a good manure then covered it over with soil. Best yeild from the runner beans we ever had.

Your way of doing beds and paths is the same as mine but most of my plot is on a slope!
