Title: Volunteer tomatoes
Post by: caroline7758 on July 27, 2011, 21:19:00
I discovered today that I have a few tomatoes growing up among my courgettes, presumably from seed in my compost. They are about 12-18" tall but not flowering yet. Do you think they are likely to produce any fruit, and will they take much nutrient away from the courgettes?

Hope so, we have some between the peppers, just hope they don't get mouldy  :)

More like the courgettes will take nutrients from the tomatoes but they'll both like a bit of tomato feed

The ones that pop up between plants in my garden over the years have done well but tend not to get many red ones.  No matter as we are rather partial to green tomato cake.  ;)
