Title: tree puzzle
Post by: Twoflower on June 07, 2011, 19:14:02

There is a tree near my house, i walk the girls to school every day pass this tree. Now i have spent the last 8 month thinking it's an ash tree when the other day i walked round the corner to be hit by the most heavy flower scent, and the tree is covered in little white pea flowers. So can someone can tell me what my pretty ash tree is?

Robinia maybe.  It's a common enough street tree. but the leaflets are smaller.

Thanks found a photo of one at Kew thats the same, really pretty tree and it has bean seeds. Will be watching for them as i might have a go at growing them. Moved to a very treey village in september and never seen one before!
