Should arrive in your bank from begining of December, They don't usually send a confirmation it will just appear.

erm, ask your local  DWP for answer to question one, and yes, listened to the biography of Mark Twain on R4 this week. ;) :) :)

I had a letter today to say it would be paid in to my bank account within 3 weeks.

My mother in law had hers paid into her bank yesterday

Jim, I don't know anything about the winter fuel payment - only being 21 and all that ...  :P but I looked on the DirectGov website and it says, "Some people will get paid at different times than others. If you do not get a payment by the end of December call The Pension Service in January."

I work in a post office, and we have started to pay them this week and will continue to pay them for the next 4 weeks, hope that helps :)

Shhhh, there are forces at work who would get rid of this little perk, a lot of these jealous types are people who get perks all their lives by getting an extra education (subsidised by the tax payers), tax relief on their morgages, tax credits, family allowances, etc.

They begrudge us poor old sods who have worked a lifetime, paid our dues, some even protected our freedom by serving in the forces. But a bit of cash to help us keep warm in the depths of winter, be it a nip of whiskey or a roaring fire, should not be allowed. If you put a bit by because you could do a bit of overtime or put a bit of effort into your work. It is begrudged even more.
