Title: Yacon plant?
Post by: basrug34 on October 24, 2010, 13:44:08
Seen in a weekend newspaper, does anyone know where I can obtain the Yacon plant? It is good for diabetics and is used a lot in Peru.
Thank you

You might find members in here offering Yacon in spring..but otherwise try this..

At the moment our plants are still in ground and we are starting to lift them up soon..but then they will have to be store away for winter..so I'm afraid supplys are not ready yet..not this time of the year ;)

Yes, best to wait to the spring when the propagules start to sprout, otherwise you will have the job of keeping them alive through the winter, when there is a chance they can rot or get frosted.
I happen to know there is a new named variety, much earlier maturing, which will be made available commercially this winter. Keep an eye on my blog for news:
