Has anyone reupholstered dining chairs before?
I am confused on what staples I would need to hold the fabric in place. Can anyone shed some light for me :)

What you need is a staple gun, any DIY shop sell them, Just get a medium one and that should do the job. I did my dining chairs about four years ago and they are still going strong. I removed the cover of only one chair and used it as a template. Leave the covers of the other chairs as there is no need to take them off. Buy extra material in case of accidents and spillages and Hey Presto new chairs.

Yes a staple gun is ideal
I suggest that what you do is get some crappy material to start with and stretch it remembering hospital corners and do a chair
Use it as your learning chair a simple knife will get the staples out. Keep pracising until you get to the point where you wished you had used decent fabric.
Then as you get the idea.........progress.
