Title: Strawberries

My Florence strawbs have arrived from Van Meuwen. Rather than plant them straight out, as i haven't got time to prepare the soil before I go away on Thurs and have a major bindweed problem, I'm thinking about putting them in pots. If I do this, should I use compost or ordinary soil, what size pots, and when should I transplant them?

I potted my Cambridge Favourites up 2 weeks ago in compost in about 4 inch pots and intend to plant them in 3-4 weeks.
