Title: What to plant in a polytunnel in August?
Post by: Rjaydee on August 01, 2010, 23:18:32
Any ideas welcome from all experienced polytunnelers! I have an empty bed in my tunnel and am not sure what to plant or sow. This is my first season so I am still learning what to do.
Look forward to your suggestions and thanks in advance.

salad leaves, radishes, herbs, and oriental greens like pak choi or choi sum would do well, I'm sure there are lots of other things too.

all of that and swiss chard.  Basically anything that has a chance of growing and will be over before you want the space for next year`s `under shelter` crop

we're doing the same but in modules outside (oriental salad stuff will bolt if too hot),these will be planted into the borders in september, along with seed of carrots and our late potato sacks will be moved inside when it gets colder, winter spring onions and mooli radish will be sowed at the same time and more as the tomatoes and peppers finish , might even try a late sowing of peas to overwinter  ;D
