Title: concrete reiforcing mesh
Post by: ACE on December 11, 2004, 12:04:38
I do not know if this has been mentioned before, but if you want a cheap and long lasting support for your runners, peas, ridge cucumbers etc Try concrete reinforcinge mesh. An 3m x 5m sheet will cost about £20 and will last for ever. It is easy to cut with a hacksaw and you can bend it to most shapes. In the past I have made a fruit cage (covered in fine mesh), runner bean support and even security mesh over my shed windows.
If  like me, you like the rust look in your garden I have made rose arbours, a  trellis for clematis, a  dombed summer house/ cage covered in  climbers which I sit in for morning coffee and use the offcuts to keep the dog off  newly planted areas. It comes in a candy twist effect and plants love it to climb up and quickly hide it.
