I have a small Viburnum bodnantense in a pot. I thought a bird had dropped on it but on closer inspection there are small groups of white "blobs" about half a cm long on the underside of the leaves. When I picked one off it was sort of stretchy, like marshmallow! Any idea what this might be?

Might be mealy bug, it's been hot enough outside.
