Oh, that I should never have to see,
Bindweed in my berries staring back at me!
It reached out and encircled round my ____,
and ____________________......

Oh, that I should never have to see,
Bindweed in my berries staring back at me!
It reached out and encircled round my stems,
and started chocking my berry gems......

Now that big and ugly monster weed
has grown and grown and gain the speed
it has come out of it's berried lair
and started to tangle around my golden hair..

..But no worries here comes the pea
all refreshed and strong after cup of tea
"I'm going to sort you out.. you thug..
even if I have to I use my beloved mug"
....

Choking the raspberries as you grow.
Underground your tangled roots
Suck out the nutrients from next years shoots.
Dig it out and you will find
You still have left too much behind
Oh awful weed you aren't very kind,
You really truly are such a bind.

The fragrant honeysuckle spirals clockwise to the sun,

But some climb anti-clockwise, the bindweed does, for one,
Or Convolvulus, to give her proper name.
Rooted on either side a door, one of each species grew,
And raced towards the window-ledge above.
Each corkscrewed to the lintel in the only way it knew,
Where they stopped, touched tendrils, smiled, and fell in love.

I weeded out a pile of bindweed just yesterday.
Today it's back saying, "Fooled you, hey, hey!"
"Forsooth! I'll cover you in a plastic of black,
over cardboard, newspaper... you won't be back."

I love the look of bindweed
On someone else's plot
But when it comes to my back yard
I'm glad that I've not got!
