Title: Winter tasks
Post by: Beer_Belly on September 16, 2003, 10:16:06
I've cleared most of my plot (apart from my leeks, some brassicas, a few lettuce and garlic goes in next month)

A couple of time a week I hoe the whole area to kill off the little weeds coming up - Will I have to do this all winter or do they stop at some point ?

I know I need to lime, digg the whole plot and fertilise but has anyone any pointers as to when to do what ?

thanks,
     BB

Hi BB - when the weather means working on the plot is a no-no, I'd suggest a trawl through the websites suggested on the Internet Links in The News section.  Very useful info to be had!

Sit in the shed, get the stove going, and brew up some tea!

The sit and watch the wildlife.

Or hack down the brambles, put them in the incinerator and have a bonfire.
