Hi all
daughter has got a baby rabbit. Does it need straw or hay for bedding? It has got some shreded paper and a bit of straw at the moment. Thanks

I don't know
much anything about bunnies really, but hopefully someone who does will see this and advise you.

Straw is best. Take a look at the "Rabbits United" forum. They are the best. I got all my info from them and the 2 house rabbits were from their rescue centers.
They will inform you about housing, feeding and general health of rabbits. To me they are the A4A for rabbits.

chopped straw is best (you can buy it in small bags) do not use hay; it gets wrapped around legs, etc and doesn't snap
please read this article http://www.rabbit.org/care/shavings.html before using shavings. I used to use shavings (from a large bale sold for horses...) and cannot say for certain 2 of my rabbits dies of liver failure due to the shavings, but I moved to chopped straw afterwards...
