Title: Missing, believed kidnapped

Someone's kidnapped one of our scarecrows!

We put him near the gate so that our visitors yesterday would be able to find us but when I went to bring him back in, he had gone.

I wonder if we'll get a ransome note?

I did think of emailing the local Police Station (it's almost opposite the allotments and we get on well with them) and sending a photo but I'm not sure what their sense of humour is like and didn't want to be accused of wasting police time.

1066 - I'll send the photo to the local free paper, it will be a laugh if they print it.

We have just had reported a series of crop stealings at our site. Someone broke into a plotholders shed and stole all of their stored onions and garlic, and a row of beetroot was dug up and brussel sprouts taken from other plots. it seems such a mean thing to do after all the work people have put into growing them. >:( busy_lizzie

I received this reply from the sgt:-

"Sorry to hear about it. The reward looks tempting but as Police officers we could not receive any such reward. I am sure it could help with information from the public. I have printed the photo off and will make sure the station is aware of his loss. I think the PCSO is popping over tomorrow"
