Title: winter salad
Post by: Daisy on October 25, 2003, 01:16:31
Is it possible to grow lettuce and radishes in a greenhouse over winter, or are there any variaties that can be grown outside. I've just got my first lottie and my first greenhouse so any advice will be welcome.

Winter density is the lettuce which comes to mind, but there are others, have a look in the seed catalogues and garden centres. Radishes do need a reasonably warm soil so they may more difficult.

things like Kellys lettuce, Primo carrot - look back on the 'what now' topics. It's a bit late to sow other things that overwinter. - Tim

Thanks for that, I'll have a try. I've planted some onions, garlic and cabbages, suppose I'll have to be a little more patient and wait for spring!
