Post by: JerryB on October 18, 2004, 14:52:20
Can someone please settle an argument im having with myself?!! Should i 'rotate' where i grow garlic? Grew some over the summer and ready to put in the autumn planted bulbs - can i grow them in the same place??????

The answer is rotate. Garlic is an allium, same as onions/leeks. Best to rotate these so you get a break. Treat them all as one crop, so do not follow any with another allium.

If you dont you may have problems, the worst of which is white rot. Both Tim and EJ can tell you tails that will send shivers down your spine!

Phew! Too scary a prospect for me! Off down the other end of the plot to plan them then! Thanks for the advice!
