Is this a subtle reference to the cannabis thread.

Along with the thread 'Doing away with the grass'  ;D

The bees love it though and it is so easy to pull up if you don't like it

What a wonderful show.   Gnash... Gnash.... I have tried growing Rudbekia over a number of years without success. I am now going to just give up...

Lovely. Rudbekias are one of my favorite late summer flowers. They are nice and bright and colourful and last for ages too.

The purple weed looks like verbena bonariensis. Wouldnt call it a weed. Used to have lots of it but lost most of it last winter.

Lovely! Planted two Rudbekias last year and both died, not sure what I did wrong (poss due to being planted in a shady spot)

Thanks Garden Assistant I have been trying to find out what that purple weed was for ages!

They look fab, I'll be growing some next year!
Do they make good cut flowers Saddad? Do you grow from cuttings or seeds?

I've just planted two small (non-flowered) rudbeckia Goldsturm. Do I need to cut them down to ground level for the winter?

I sowed some Rudbekia seeds last Spring--  ashamed to say they stayed in thier seed tray

looking sad and neglected,  got to them in the end and now have 8 pots of plants, all

  looking good.

They are still out in the elements, do I leave them there, or do I need to fleece at all,

--  they are in 4"   pots,

  With thanks,

Shouldn't need it... unless it gets really cold and there is a chance of the pots freezing solid while waterlogged...  :-\

Many thanks saddad, will tuck them round a corner with an over hang, should be out

of the worst weather , and will watch the watering,   ;)
