Title: autumn onion sets - any advice

hi

i am preparing my onion plot for the autumn sowing of sets

it would be great to get some feedback about which varieties have worked the best for you and also any suggestions on who I should spend my money with to get the best quality sets

Got mine from Tuckers last year. grew well but having a small garden, the summer lot got interplanted with the autumns. Radar possibly.

we got really good results with senshyu yellow onion sets this year, unfortunately, you're a bit too far from our supplier, he's somewhere about bolton

We grew Radar and Try this year. The Radar was the better of the two and it keeps for longer. Will definitely be growing them again.

I also grew Yellow Senshyu, only because thats what our local gardening centre had in, the onions were a fair size and they all come up and at £1 per 1lb you can't grumble.  ;)     ;D ;D ;D

Hi you can have a look at Dobies, they have a range of autumn onion sets. That also have a selective seed sale on at the moment. Just Google Dobies you will get there. Good Luck.
