  It's lovely Flighty whatever it is,  would love those in my garden.

   Looks similar to a Dahlia but don't think so,

Flossy no it's not a dahlia! There's just the one sadly.

it does look like a double variety of one of my dahlias, but i'm sure it isn't

I grow Zinnias every year and this looks like one to me.
