Title: True Quince
Post by: saddad on August 13, 2009, 13:04:04
Lots of the leaves falling prematurely... brown spotting that spreads and kills the leaves.. looking very unsightly.. Any suggestions?  :-[

Dunno, but I'll have a look at mine tonight and see if I have the same problem. If I have, then it's probably the weather!

Could be scab, same as you get on apples.
If you don't want to spray, make sure you get up all the dead leaves at the back end of the year, and also try and prune out the centre of the tree and maybe some other branches to improve air circulation.

In the walled garden at Clumber today and noticed their Quince had exactly the same thing and had lost virtually all the leaves...  :-X

We lost our complete harvest of what looked as if it was going to be good, the fruit looked fantastic, then suddenly it all went brown and dropped off. ;-)))

 Leaves still look good.  qahtan
