Title: width?

Is there an advantage to wider greenhouses? ie a 8 foot and a half versus 6 foot?

Hi Hector,

If you have the option, I would go for the larger one.

I'm lucky to have both a 6 x 8 and an 8 x 10 (the latter under the overhang of an oak tree) but the larger one, in my experience seems to give a better return, pro rata growing space, than the smaller one (which I now treat more as a potting shed and a drying area).

Also at 6' the higher eaves are a real bonus...  :)

The larger the area, the less the temperature fluctuates.

That's very noticeable in the big school's greenhouse compared with my 8x6's.

Id wondered if a wide bed was less flexible than a long thinner greenhouse?
