Hi all!! :D
Sorry to be a pain but your advice and help is needed! ???
I have signed an agreement for a specific plot on my local allotment which commences on 1st October. This allotment is run by the local council who have agreed to cut down the undergrowth etc and rotavate the plot free of charge. (Not sure if this is a good thing as it may spread roots of weeds etc.)
I had an e-mail this week saying that when the operative visited site to clear the plot it is now being used by someone else (This was unknown to the council.)
Does anyone know how I stand on this matter i.e is the plot mine as i signed the agreement or will i have to find another plot!! ::)
The allotments officer from the council is visiting the site this Monday!!
-
Oh how horrid - I am so sorry. I'm sure some one who knows about these things will be along soon. You must have been so excited, and then felt all let down. Big hug for now, and I am sure it will all get sorted out by the allotment person on Monday.
-
That must have been so disappointing NM. This sounds like gross inefficiency on somebody's part, as there should be no doubt about who has tenancy of a particular plot. Surely if you have signed a Tenancy Agreement and paid your yearly fee, they will be duty bound to supply you with a Plot of some sort. Hope things become clearer when you see the Allotment Officer, hope he is feeling very shame faced! That is really shabby! :( busy_lizzie
-
Thank you both for your kind words!
Hopefully it will be al sorted this Monday!! ::)
-
Hope all goes well for tomorrow.
Could be they went to rotervate the wrong lottie.
Or like ours someone will take over a lottie untill a new owner is found just to keep it ticking over.
Cyber hugs for tomorrow

Any news Nobby? let us know

Hi all!!
Well I visited the allotment site yesterday and my chosen lottie plot was still there overgrown and no-one working on it!!!

Wuhoo!!! I'm sooooooooooooo happy!!
My lottie plot has been cleared and rotavated!!
Lets hope its dry this weekend - so I can start weeding etc!! ::)
-
Oh that's brilliant :D :D :D really pleased for you, have a wonderful weekend!!!
-
Excellent news Nobbyman, 8) good luck and get digging. ;)
Roy. ;D
-
at last! congratulations.
-
Excellent ;D Hope that the sun shines all weekend for you to make a good start.
-
Very pleased everything has worked out for you. Enjoy your weekend of weeding! :D
I've got one small patch of couch grass left to dig out and then it's all done....until those roots I missed start to grow back again. >:(
Try to get something planted, it's a great feeling to actually plant something rather than dig things (weeds) out all the time.
-
Hi Jesseveve!! :o
What do you recommend that can be planted at this time of year?
Nobby ???
-
Hi Nobbyman - congratulations on getting your plot.
How did the weekend go?
How about planting some garlic and some fruit bushes? (Blackcurrants, Raspberries, Strawberries). One of my plot neighbours gave me some lovely strawberry runners to pop into my plot yesterday.
Sarah.
-
Hope you are not feeling too stiff after all your digging! You could plant onion sets, peas, broad beans, or winter salads under a cloche. Have fun, I'm quite envious!
-
Got winter variety broad beans!!
Is it too late to plant my baby strawberry plants?
Someone pleeeeeeeze help? ::)
-
Get them in ASAP, might be a bit late but you will still get a crop from them.
Jerry

I Just took over my plot yesterday and the highlighted area on the site map i was given in no way matches my lottie.
But i'm happy anyway ;D
