Sorry - 'the rot' again.
Singled out my two small strings of storable onions - photo elsewehere - from the infected ones. Or so I thought.
Even the apparently perfect ones have got it inside. = Tim

I have the same thing with my shallots Tim, they felt firm and looked great, until I cut them open and they were horrid inside. BL**DY ROT! :'(

I've been getting ones just like that from our local farm shop too Tim. When I took them back they were so embarrassed!! As you both say they looked fine and firm until they were cut open.
